Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Oakleigh Road, this occurred on Thursday 26th February between 0615am and 0745am the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
LOCATION IS A DETACHED RESIDENTIAL GARAGE, SECURED WITH A METAL UP AND OVER DOOR, SECURED BY LOCK. IN FRONT OF GARAGE IS A T BAR SECURITY POST WITH WOODEN SCAFFOLD BAR SECURED WITH THICK PACLOCK PREVENTING THE GARAGE DOOR FULLY OPENING. Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it on Thursday 26th February between 0600hrs and 0800hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
